British Airways cabin crew vote in favour of strikes

Cabin crew at British Airways could strike as soon as Easter after voting eight to one in favour of industrial action. The on-going dispute between the airline and Unite has centred around cost-cutting and disciplinary action taken by the airline during previous strikes. Len McCluskey, general secretary at Unite, said it was still in discussions with BA to resolve the row. “This vote shows that cabin crew remain determined to win justice,” he said. “We urge BA’s boardroom to see this as a clear message that they must think again about how to regain the trust and confidence of a significant part of their cabin crew operation.”
