Maritim Hotels has reported a 7.1 percent rise in turnover during last year compared to 2009. The hotel group’s revpar increased EUR8.25 above last year’s figure even though its room rates had raised by 13 percent. “The results can be attributed to continued expansion, the introduction of new conference packages, ongoing cooperation with hotel review platform TripAdvisor and the consistent implementation of a strengthened sales and marketing strategy. The reduction in VAT for overnight stays has also contributed favourably to the final figures,” said Mark Spivey, director of international sales at Maritim Hotels. The company now predicts to increase its turnover by 8.6 percent this year and open new hotels in China following its first last year.
