Aloft Hotels has implemented its automatic check-in service to five more hotels after a successful pilot. The new system, whichi debuted at Aloft Lexington (MA) last year, will be placed in loft Harlem, Aloft Brooklyn, Aloft Dallas Downtown, Aloft Jacksonville Tapestry Park, and Aloft London by the end of 2011. “Aloft guests never settle for a traditional hotel experience, and they’ve embraced the Smart Check-In revolution with tremendous enthusiasm,” said Brian McGuinness, SVP, specialty select brands for Starwood. “For our associates, freedom from traditional check-in procedures means they can spend more time engaging with guests and enhancing the social atmosphere that’s made Aloft such a huge hit.” Before arriving at the hotel, guests will receive a text message with their room number and previously-sent keycard. This card will provide access to the hotel room straight away. Aloft said the card could later be used to purchase goods around the properties.
