Christmas comes early for Superbreak

Superbreak has encouraged travel agents to market Christmas packages now after it saw an increase in bookings for the period. Thirty group bookings have been made with the tour operator in recent weeks, with London still the most popular destination. “Christmas shopping breaks book up well in advance this year,” said Rosie Bowes, groups and specialist sales manager at Superbreak. “We have already booked 40% of the total number of group festive bookings we did last year and it’s only May.” She said that Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham and York also performed well for the Christmas period. “With an average booking size of 20 people per group, the opportunities really are huge. In London especially, we find that most group bookings have at least one additional element added in, such as rail or theatre tickets and this can really help boost booking values and thus commission,” added Bowes.
