Holidays back on track as Grimsvotn eruptions stop

British holidays are set to run as usual this half term after the Met Office and Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that there will be no flight disruption this weekend. The authorities said that the Grimsvotn volcano had stopped erupting but warned that the unpredictable weather could change the direction of the ash cloud. All flights in the UK ran as scheduled yesterday although flights to and from Germany were significantly affected on Wednesday when the ash cloud shifted south. Meanwhile, Holiday Autos has announced it is offering a 10% discount on UK car hire to those whose travel may be disrupted by the ash cloud. Travel agents dealing with clients who have been affected will be able to receive the 10% discount by contacting the car hire company.
