Global tourism alliance launches to help small and medium sized destinations

A new tourism alliance has been created to help small and medium sized destinations in marketing their product. The group, named International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP), will offer support at trade shows, roadshows, meetings and with media contacts. It will also support carbon targets and green growth strategies set by tourism businesses with marketing and advice. Board members include Geoffrey Lipman, former assistance secretary general for the UNWTO; Feisol Hashim, owner of the Alam Hotel Group; Alain St.Ange, head of Seychelles Tourism Board and Juergen Thomas Stenimetz, publisher of eTurboNews. The association will officially launch at World Travel Market in November, with a web portal unveiled before the trade show.
