MSC Cruises has announced it will start to include Tunisia in its itineraries again from next month. The cruise line’s MSC Fantasia and MSC Lirica are scheduled to return to La Goulette on 5 July. MSC Splendida and MSC Sinfonia will then visit the port the day after. MSC was amongst several tour operators and cruise lines that pulled port calls, tours and holidays to the country when protests started earlier this year. However since the unrest has settled in the country, Tunisia has been put back on the portfolio of several companies. “The country is back to normal, security is now stable and we are glad to offer our guests one of their favourite destinations again for this summer’s seven-night cruises in the Mediterranean,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC. “Tourism represents one of the biggest resources for this country’s economic revival and we are proud to be making our contribution.” The cruise line will also call at Tunis during this winter season.
