High speed rail is to continue to be a key part of the Guild of Travel Management Companies’ agenda this month when it takes the stage at Business Travel Market (BTM). Anne Godfrey, chief executive of GTMC will moderate a session with HRG, Eurostar and Microsoft at the trade event. The panel will discuss the HS2 route from Birmingham to Scotland and distribution within the sector. “I expect there to be a frank and robust discussion of all the issues surrounding rail travel in the UK and beyond including why the current rail network, stations and ancillory services still fall so short of the business traveller’s expectations,” said Godfrey. BTM unveiled its conference programme today, which includes keynotes from Etihad, LOCOG, ACTE and a body language expert. There will also be 15 educational seminars covering programme management, personal development, trends and the environment.
