VisitEngland launches domestic tourism industry forums

Three new tourism forums have been launched by VisitEngland for businesses involved in the domestic market. The three new meetings and groups will replace Partners for England and allow the association to work closer with companies. In the new programme, 20 key tourism industry figures and organisations such as The Tourism Alliance and the British Hospitality Association will meet twice a week at The Strategic Industry Advisory Group. There will also be a bi-annual Visitor Economy Forum and a Destinations Forum to create strategies and agendas for domestic tourism. “There is now greater onus on VisitEngland to engage more extensively at the sub-national and destination level,” said Lady Cobham, chairman of VisitEngland. “The new forums announced today provide us with an opportunity to refine our communication and engagement with the industry so that we can be more effective at a time of significant change.”
