Shearings is encouraging travel agents to cross-sell its no-fly cruises with escorted tour customers following the success of its first chartered cruise. The tour operator launched three no-fly cruises this year for the first time in order to stake a place in the growing cruise market. “We know that customers are attracted to the great value they can get on a cruise and by extending our offer to include other extras we believe that we can help agents increase the appeal to cost-conscious holidaymakers,” said Gaynor Harrison, head of cruise operations at Shearings. “Bookings for all three sea cruises have been strong and we’re looking forward to our next departures this summer”. Shearings will charter mv Discovery for a 14-day journey around the Baltics in August and a 10-day British Isles cruise in September.
