International Rail targets trade with Russian booking system

International Rail has introduced a new system for booking rail tickets to and within Russia and neighbouring states including Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Lithuania and Kazakhstan. The new system has been established with the travel trade in mind as commission rates are available on all bookings. The Russian Federation is the world’s largest country spanning eleven time zones and its country wide rail network is just as impressive, transporting in excess of 1.3 billion passengers every year. However despite this global recognition, booking these rail routes hasn’t always been easy especially within the travel trade.”The travel trade may have heard of the Trans-Mongolian rail journey but booking it hasn’t always been easy,” commented Rod Maton, chairman of International Rail.”With the new system, our travel trade partners can call up any member of the call-centre team and instantly book tickets and find out information, allowing the agent and operators to provide a quality and instant service to their customers. The trade will also benefit from commission rates which will be specifically set with each interested operator or agency.”We are looking for travel trade partners to work with us to open up rail travel within the region and encourage both business and leisure travellers to experience this extensive and magnificent part of the world for themselves.”
