Preferred Hotel Group launches Pride collection

Preferred Hotel Group has launched a collection of ‘gay welcoming’ hotels as part of this year’s Pride festivities. Nearly 100 hotels are listed in the group, known as Preferred Pride, and must be either TAG approved or belong to the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) to be eligible. In addition, the hotel group is boosting its LGBT service within its staff training to encourage more hotels to adopt practices such as providing bathrobes and toiletries for same-sex couples. “Preferred Pride is more than just another LGBT seal of approval; the program was created to unite Preferred’s diverse community of independent hoteliers around the world who are committed to the LGBT community,” said Rick Stiffler, executive director, leisure sales at Preferred. “It is a global initiative that enables hoteliers to learn about and better understand the needs and preferences of the LGBT traveller.”
