Voyages of Discovery has redesigned its website with more video content in a bid to reach a growing number of mature online users. The new site is using videos to entice users on taking a cruise and the company claims it is working, as its tracking system has shown that callers make a booking having just watched the video for that cruise. Digital content is to continue to be a priority at the cruise line and its previous head of marketing and reservations Jos Dewing is now in the newly created role of director of online to front the strategy. “We are in a rapidly developing online age and it is important for us to keep on top of the trends and innovate, whilst maintaining a site that is clear and usable for our target passenger,” said Dewing. “It is also key within this market to present a site that is engaging and exciting for users, but remains conscious of budgets and separates functions of vanity against those of value.”
