Aqua Hotels & Resorts has announced it is to manage The Lotus at Diamond Head, Waikiki. The property is to be renamed as Aqua Lotus Honolulu and will become part of the Aqua Boutique Collection. “The property has a long history as a popular hotel and restaurant. Both its owners and Aqua are committed to the renovations and upgrades needed to return it to four-star status,” said Ben Rafter, president and CEO of Aqua. The 51-room hotel will be renovated during the day when guests are out exploring Oahu, which includes the refurbishment of the restaurant area and reopening of a contemporary new restaurant and lounge. “There will be no interruption of service as we transition reservations already in the system,” said Elizabeth Churchill, VP sales & marketing at Aqua. “We will be reaching out to the family, romance and active traveller markets with special introductory offers to re-acquaint travellers and travel agents with the hotel,” she added.
