Tourism target set for Falkland Islands

The Falkland Islands has set its tourism target for the year, with the aim of increasing UK arrivals by 12.9%. The destination is expecting 64,000 people to have visited the islands for the most reason season (ending April 2011) which includes cruise passengers and domestic tourists. Within the UK market arrivals were up 27% to 1, 494 in the first quarter compared to 2010 and the tourism board expects growth to continue at a steady pace until 2015. Expenditure has also improved
