Sabre Travel Network has announced the global roll-out of customer profiles for its GDS system. The function will allow travel agencies and TMCs to display customer information in a single column, with the option of incorporating both corporate and leisure preferences under one name. Agencies will be able to define the structure and control who sees what, which means customer information can remain secure and in line with PCI standards. Chris Kroeger, senior vice president of Sabre said the new profiles would help agencies to offer a more personalised service and tailored offering, while allowing it to be integrated onto Red, third party applications and other online, offline and mobile channels. “We want to drive the agency’s own customer loyalty through content and tools, but also for them to invest in tools that measure and improve their business performance,” he added. Kroeger added that all agencies are ready to upgrade to the new format and next year it will enable data sharing between Sabre Profiles and ClientBase and GetThere.
