Pegasus Airlines and airberlin have entered a codeshare agreement on flights between Turkey and Germany. The first stage of the deal includes joint flights pairing Berlin, Dussesldorf, Cologne/Bonnn and Munich with Istanbul. This will also include two codeshare services between Istanbul and Izmir and Ankara. In the second stage of the partnership next year, airberlin will open its international routes to Pegasus customers. “Pegasus now flies to five destinations in Germany, with a total of 40 weekly scheduled flights. Indeed, Pegasus’ holding company Esas is airberlin’s single largest shareholder with its 16.48% stake in the airline,” explained Sertac Haybat, general manager at Pegasus Airlines. “Our partnership with airberlin began in 2009, when we embarked upon integration of our websites, with guests from either airline able to book flights on the other’s website. Today we are very pleased to announce our codeshare arrangement with airberlin, which will further strengthen our presence in Germany”.
