Horse-riding specialist In the Saddle has launched its products to the trade. The tour operator has decided to sell through the trade after it felt it had the expertise and experience after 15 years of direct selling. The company is offering 10% commission to travel agents. Olwen Law, director of In the Saddle told Travel Daily its brochure had been designed to make the holidays easy to sell for travel agents. It includes holidays across the world including South America and Africa and has colour coded it strips in ability (in the same colours as those found on ski slopes).
KEAdventure Travel revealed to Travel Daily it is looking to increase its presence within travel agents. The adventure specialist, which runs tours for several multiples, will be increasing its trade activity soon including product training. The move comes due to adventure travel becoming more mainstream.
Great RailJourneys and Treyn has seen sales through travel agents surge 80% and will continue to visit travel agents on the road to discuss its product. In a similar trend to the package holiday market, the train company’s Giles Latham told Travel Daily it has included more extras into its GRJ holidays (i.e. meals) so its customers do not have to pay while travelling. Its cruise and rail product has gained pace in the last few months, as have sales on Yorkshire journeys.
