Japanese airline ANA’s domesticpassenger traffic has returned to the pre-tsunami levels of 2010. In August theJapanese carrier carried 559,900 passengers on international routes in August2011, 31.1% more than the same month last year. International load factors arenow averaging 82.8% – the first time they have exceeded the 80% mark since thedisasters.
On domestic routes, the airline carried 3.87 million passengers ondomestic routes, just 0.7% fewer than the same period last year. The rate ofdecline has gradually improved each month since the devastating 11 Marchdisasters, and load factors have also now recovered to a reasonably healthy70.7%, compared to just 47.6% in April this year.
