AirAsia X moves to Gatwick

AirAsia X operated its inaugural flight from Gatwick Airport yesterday afternoon. The carrier will operate flights from the new base (previously Stansted) to Kuala Lumpur three times a week during November, increasing it up to five or six flights a week during December to March 2012.

“From our first flight into London back in March 2009 till today, we are strong supporters of our London -Kuala Lumpur route and are always looking for ways to improve ourselves to increase passenger traffic in and out of London. With that being said, we believe that our move into Gatwick Airport will help this route grow as we are now providing guests with greater choices for connectivity,” said Darren Wright, head of commercial at AirAsia X.
