Dusit International has announced it is to open a Thani-branded hotel in the Maldives this December. The 100-villa resort was launched to UK travel agents and tour operators in London last week by the regional sales team and Victoria Hilley, director of sales and marketing at Dusit Thani Maldives.
“Dusit International has set its eyes on international growth, and there is no better destination to make a big statement than the Maldives, where luxury and service are honed at their highest level,” said Hilley on the move into the new destination. She said the launch party marked six months of promoting the property.
“The UK market continues to be the single most important and influential market for the Maldives, particularly in the premium resort sector. Dusit Thani Maldives will continue to introduce the resort through various means, including the current ‘road show’ and visitations; at key trade shows, including WTM and ILTM this year; through hosted fam trips and invitationals, and a pre-and post marketing campaign that will reach both the trade media and the consumer”.
The resort is located on Mudhdhoo Island and has six room categories from villas on the beach to accommodation based out in the sea. It also includes an all-day dining restaurant named Market; a Thai restaurant called Benjarong and another named The Sea Grill. There is also two bars, a fitness centre, infinity pool and water sports on the beach.
