SingaporeAirlines (SIA)’s UK & Ireland general manager has revealed he hopes theairline will continue to increase its flights from London if airports areflexible in growth. Speaking at SIA’s 25th Annual ParliamentaryReception at the House of Commons this week, Phee Teik Yeoh said the carrierwas dedicated to increasing flights between the UK and South East Asia butshowed concern for the ‘lack of flexibility’ at Heathrow.
He explained that its’stacking’ system compromised schedules but also caused unwanted additionalfuel usage and noise. On the subject of sustainability, Yeoh voiced hisopposition against the EU’s ETS taxation in favour of an international tradingscheme for aviation.
