Etihad pens deal for live in-flight TV

Etihad Airways has signed a deal to provide its long-haul aircraft with in-flight television. The 10-year agreement with Panasonic, which is valued at more than US$1 billion, will see its eX2 and eX3 IFEC systems installed on 100 new aircraft, in addition to the 16 aircraft already equipped with the eX2 system.

These systems will offer in-flight entertainment systems,broadband internet and live TV for the airline’s entire long-haul fleet of wide-body aircraft, including its new Airbus A380s, Boeing 787 Dreamliners,Boeing 777-300ERs and Airbus A350 XWBs.

“It is essential that we offer the most engaging and dynamic in-flight entertainment for our guests – especially on long-haul flights,” said James Hogan, CEO of Etihad.
