Mantra Group has reported an upswing in business at its Queensland hotels. Despite the challenges faced in the state, the group reported a 3.7% rise in revenue per available room (revPAR) for its Queensland network over the past 12 months, and an overall revenue increase of 9.1%.
The positive results follow a successful school holiday period which saw a 3.8% increase in occupancy drive a 4.7% increase in revPAR. The company has recently added two more hotels to its Queensland portfolio – the Peppers Broadbeach on the Gold Coast and BreakFree Rainbow Shores on the Sunshine Coast.
“We’ve added two properties to our network… and the increased inventory is being met with the demand we had anticipated,” Mantra’s CEO, Bob East said. “Queensland – after all its challenges – has certainly returned to being a holiday destination of choice for Australians.
“We are continuing to investigate opportunities to grow our portfolio in Australia in both the leisure and corporate accommodation sphere,” East added.
Mantra Group is the largest accommodation provider in Queensland with more than 50 Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree hotels.
