Cambodia hosts ecotourism forum

The 3rd World Ecotourism Conference was held last week in Preah Sihanouk province, Cambodia, aimed at developing Asia Pacific region as a leading ecotourism destination. According to Xinhua, some 300 governmental officials, ecotourism specialists, businessmen, as well as representatives from national and international ecotourism associations and communities from 23 countries attended the three-day event on 3-5 October. Under the theme “Charting the Future of Ecotourism in Asia: Asia will dominate global tourism in future”, the event provided a platform for stakeholders to share practical experience and ideas on how to make Asia a leader in the field. With the backing of the UNWTO, participants committed to building a development roadmap and cooperative framework with a mandate to achieving this goal.
