Dreamliner set for first ever commercial flight

Boeing’s launch partner, All Nippon Airways (ANA), will launch the first ever commercial flight of the B787 Deamliner this week. The charter flight will make aviation history when it takes-off for Hong Kong from Tokyo’s Narita Airport at 12.20pm (Japanese Standard Time) on Wednesday 26 October.  Tickets for the charter are available through package tours.

The special charter flight will return the following day before ANA begins special excursion flights at Narita on 28 and 29 October. These excursion flights are being operated to give passengers a taste of the Dreamliner experience and are available to ANA’s frequent flyers and ANA Mileage Card members.

Regular commercial flights are set to begin in earnest next month. The aircraft will initially be launched on domestic routes from Tokyo Haneda to Okayama and Hiroshima on 1 November. Itami, Yamaguchi-Ube and Matsuyama will be added to the Dreamliner’s domestic network later in the financial year.

The first regular international flights will commence in December with short-haul operations from Haneda to Beijing once a week. Then in January, ANA will begin long-haul international services from Haneda to Frankfurt.
