Syrian man pulls 100 tonne locomotive

A Syrian strongman stood before bewildered onlookers near the capital Damascas and proved his mettle by pulling a passenger train with nothing but grit, determination and sheer brawn. Crowds gathered at Kadam train station last week to see for themselves Adnan Ismail al-Awad tackle this super-human feat.  The train, packed with passengers, was 20m long and weighed 2.5 tonnes. However al-Awad estimates it weighs as much as 1000 tonnes when taking into account the incline up which he hauled the machine. Quoted by The Telegraph newspaper, one engineer who watched the impressive stunt said; ”The difficulty is at the beginning with getting the carriages to move, this needs great strength, more than 100 horses.”
