Bangkok riverside hotel to reopen as Anantara

The former Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa, the urban resort located on the banks of the Thai capital’s Chao Praya River, will reopen as an Anantara on 1 November 2011. Renamed the Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, the 17 year-old property becomes the third Anantara property in Bangkok, and its 19th in Asia. The company’s 20th property is due to open in Bali before year-end.

Designed to be a quiet retreat with a Thai village atmosphere, the 407-room Anantara Bangkok Riverside is spread over 4.5 hectares, and offers ferry boat services to the city’s BTS Skytrain network.

Facilities include 10 bars and restaurants, conference and meeting rooms and a Mandara spa with nine treatment rooms.
