The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has unveiled the first phase of its new-look Mandarin website. The PATAChina.org site has been revamped by PATA member Dragon Trail, and now features improved content and functionality, including links to Chinese social media channels such as Weibo and Youku.
Other features include PATA member and industry news updates, a calendar of events, insights, tourism trends, and a more user-friendly media centre.
PATA’s interim CEO, Bill Calderwood said; “With the rise and rise of China as an inbound and outbound force, PATA sees great opportunities to help our Chinese speaking members maximise the benefits of membership in their own language.”
President & co-founder of Dragon Trail, Jens Thraenhart, added; “We are pleased to assist PATA in developing a relevant Chinese language web platform. It allows PATA to reach out to China-based members and engage with the tourism industry by leveraging the Chinese Internet and social media landscape.”
Later phases of the website upgrade will include offering access to real-time intelligence and the ability to engage with PATA and other members online.
Kate Chang, PATA’s Regional Director for China, said; “The new look PATAChina.org helps PATA members build their business. I encourage members to make use of this web site and the connected China-based social media channels. Members are welcome to provide news updates on products, services and events which will maximise publicity opportunities.”
