The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will hold its second Aviation Open House from 3-5 November. Collaborating with more than 40 companies and education institutions, CAAS will showcase career, education and training opportunities within the industry. More than 8,000 people are expected to visit the Open House over the three days.
“Held in a special year when Singapore is celebrating 100 years of aviation, the Aviation Open House 2011 aims to ignite young Singaporeans’ passion for aviation,” said CAAS Director-General, Yap Ong Heng.
“It will give them a comprehensive panorama of the many exciting and rewarding opportunities provided by the aviation industry, and allow them to experience the buzz of aviation. With its manpower demands set to increase further, encouraging young Singaporeans to join the industry is essential to developing and sustaining the talent and human resource pool for the industry’s further growth,” he added.
The event, being held at D’Marquee at Downtown East, will feature a range of booths and displays, including the Singapore Aviation Centennial multi-media display and flight training simulators. Companies attending the Open House include Changi Airport Group, dnata Singapore, GE Aviation Services, Jetstar Asia, Rolls-Royce and Singapore Airlines.
