Garuda Indonesia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 61 Jakarta-based embassies. The airline’s President & CEO, Emirsyah Satar penned the MoU with the ambassadors of the respective countries at an event held last Wednesday at the Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta. The embassies included in the MoU include France, Germany, Norway, Spain, UK, Australia, Brunei, Italy and Japan.
From now on, all staff from these embassies will use Garuda when travelling on both domestic and international routes to and from Indonesia. They will be also entitled to special rates and services, such as special net corporate fares, priority reservations, city check-in and group reservations. In addition, Garuda’s subsidiary, Aerowisata will organise the embassies’ travel arrangements.
Previously in 2010, Garuda entered a similar agreement with 16 embassies in Indonesia, including South Korea, Turkey, Brazil, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA.
“We sincerely hope that this MoU will strengthen the ties between Indonesia and the friendly nations,” said Satar.
