China Southern begins daily services to Auckland

China Southern Airlines began direct daily flights between China and New Zealand today. The operator has upped frequency of A330-200 services between Guangzhou and Auckland from three times weekly to daily, adding an additional 90,000 passenger seats per year.  As New Zealand’s second largest trading partner, it is hoped that increased connectivity with China will boost bilateral tourism and trade opportunities. Chinese arrivals to Auckland are rising fast, up 26% on 2010, and China is expected to supplant the US and the city’s third largest source market.
