A British female adventurer arrived in Tokyo last week after completing the first of her round-the-world solo voyage. Sarah Outen cycled into the Japanese capital after travelling 11,000 miles under her own steam. It took the 26-year-old 227 days to complete the first of five legs by bicycle and kayak. Since departing London on 1 April, she has cycled through 12 countries, traversed the Gobi Desert, and made four sea crossings, including a kayak across La Perouse Strait from Russia to Japan, reports The Telegraph. The young adventurer will remain in Japan until the Spring, planning her next journey which will see her row solo across the North Pacific from Tokyo to Vancouver, Canada.
