PATA promotes heritage protection and tourism in China

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is teaming up with authorities in China to preserve national heritage and boost the tourism industry. PATA and the China International Heritage Towns Exposition have co-organised the China Responsible Tourism Forum (CRTF), set to take place in Beijing on 16 December. The forum aims to help, protect and preserve the heritage and culture of ancient villages in China, while responsibly developing these villages to boost tourism. Delegates will also discuss the threat that mass tourism poses to these communities and their residents, and highlight the value tourism may bring if executed thoughtfully. Chinese experts will talk about ways of implementing responsible tourism development, and will exchange ideas in developing and managing tourist sites and attractions.
