Starwood’s Aloft brand to debut in KL

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open its first Aloft hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral will open in the Malaysian capital’s main transport hub, KL Sentral, in early 2013, following a deal struck between Starwood and the hotel’s owner, Iringan Flora Sdn Bhd.

“Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral will bring a dynamic mix of urban style and social interplay to the KL Sentral area. The Aloft brand’s bold design and social atmosphere is a big draw for the next generation of travellers, who expect their lodging to reflect their constantly evolving lifestyle,” said Chuck Abbott, Regional Vice President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Southeast Asia.

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral will feature 482 rooms in a 31-storey tower. Facilities will include several function rooms and a 700-pax capacity ballroom, as well as a lobby lounge, restaurant, fitness centre, infinity-edged swimming pool and wading pool, three bars including a Sky Bar, and a ‘Touch & Go’ kiosk providing internet-based services.
