Rak Airways will expand its route network to Pakistan by commencing two flights a week to Peshawar and Lahore from November 2011. Omar Jahameh, the UAE-based carrier’s CEO said; “The addition of two new routes to our network is an extremely significant development for the airline as we celebrate our first anniversary. The volume of foreign trade between the UAE and Pakistan amounted to US$2.86 billion (INR141.5 billion) last year, at a growth rate of 9%. With flights to Lahore and Peshawar, passengers can capitalise on the opportunities for trade that exist between the two countries. It will also provide the UAE’s Pakistani community with increased connection to travel home.”
Flights depart from Rak’s home base at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.
