IHCL profit up for Q2

Indian Hotel Company Limited (IHCL) posted a net profit of INR8.12 crore for the second quarter ending 30 September. The company posted a loss of INR6.30 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago. The company’s return to the black can be attributed to higher occupancy levels across its properties, which boosted revenue per available room (revPAR).
Raymond Bickson, Managing Director of IHCL said that the company improved the average number of rooms sold per day by 8%, and that income from operations had increased 9% to INR357 crore during this quarter, compared to INR328 crore  in the same quarter a year earlier.
