The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) to be held in Jaipur from 7-9 January 2012 will add boost to tourism in Rajasthan. Nearly 1,500 delegates from some 150 countries are expected to attend the meet, which is designed to honour achievers in different fields. Bhim Singh, Managing Director of Rajasthan Tours, told Travel Daily India that the event will increase the awareness of the city, which is already popular among the domestic and international tourists.
“Coming up of new hotels like the Marriott, Lalit, Royal Orchid and The Fern, near the airport, has added to the accommodation sector. Jaipur is already famous for the Rambagh Palace, Rajputana Sheraton, Mansingh and other palace hotels, like Diggi Palace and Samode Palace. One of the objectives of the PBD is to promote interaction and several States, including Rajasthan and Gujarat, have been telling of the investment opportunities available for the NRI’s,” Singh stated.
