Hapag Lloyd’s new Europa 2 , currently under construction at the STX shipyard in Saint-Nazaire France will set the new standard in luxury cruising when she is introduced in May next year . The ship features 11 decks, all –suites have private balconies and will provide the largest passenger space ratio in the industry. The Europa 2 will be positioned as a modern, lifestyle-oriented sister ships to the world’s only 5-star-plus ship the MS Europa.
Each suite onboard will boast a balcony which is a minimum of 75 square feet in size, each suite to offer a free mini-bar, WiFi internet (at an additional cost) and a tablet PC. The 251 suites are sized from 301 square feet to 1066 square feet, and some of the higher suite categories will offer their own whirlpools. In addition 16 Spa suites will offer whirlpools tubs and rain showers with steam saunas, providing guest with a private oasis onboard. For families there will be seven family style suites where parents and children have dedicated areas.
The restaurants onboard will offer diversity and flexibility with flexible mealtimes, no assigned seating and plenty of tables for two with eight restaurants to choose from. The ship will also boast a 10,000 square foot health spa and fitness centre and child care centre for toddlers of two and over.
