DOCOMO interTouch, the technology company for the hospitality industry, has announced the launch of ‘FREEDOM Check In’, a new solution whereby travellers can use their mobile phones to bypass the hotel front desk and open their room doors.

The new service is being offered in partnership with OpenWays, the provider of mobile key solutions. DOCOMO interTouch will provide ‘FREEDOM Check In powered by OpenWays’ hosting services and support to its hotel customers with a focus on the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Latin America regions.

The Mobile Key by OpenWays solution enables hotel guests open their room doors with their mobile phones, negating the need for plastic key cards.

The solution can be retrofitted to most major electronic locks on the market and is compatible with all types of mobile phones.
