Thomson aims to target consumers in-resort

Thomson has launched a smartphone app for consumers to find vouchers, event information and bookable excursions.

The free app is aimed at travellers while they are away to book excursions while in resort, an area travel companies are trying to cash in on thanks to the rise in mobile internet use. It will also include special offers such as restaurant deals and a ‘What’s On’ section with event information.

“With a huge number of holidaymakers preparing themselves for their winter sun breaks and with more wifi spots in our resorts than ever before as well as roaming tariffs set to come down, this is a great time to offer our customers the free app,” said Ian Chapman, holiday experience director at Thomson.
