India’s registered a reduced number of inbound arrivals for August 2012 as compared to the same month last year. The country recorded 2.5%  growth last month, while the growth chartered in August 2011 was 5.3%. During the first eight months of 2012, India received 42.18 visitors with 6.2% growth as compared to 29.73 lakh arrivals with 10% growth last year.

The country’s foreign exchange earnings last month grew 26.6% with INR7,260 crore as compared to INR5,734 crore in August 2011.
