Air Canada, Aer Lingus sign interline deal

Air Canada and Aer Lingus have signed a interline agreement in its first step towards codesharing.

The deal is in effect now and means passengers on the Toronto to Dublin service can connect to Heathrow on one ticket.

The airlines’ codeshare deal is expected to be finalised next year, which will see both carriers switched to Heathrow’s Terminal 2 to help ease connections.

Air Canada will also introduce year-round flights between Toronto and Dublin next year.

“Air Canada is pleased to interline with Aer Lingus as it will complement our Toronto-Dublin seasonal service to make it easy to fly year-round between Canada and Ireland via convenient connections through London Heathrow Airport,” said Marcel Forget, vice president network planning at Air Canada.
