Oman gets its ‘International Medical City’

The former medical tourism project termed ‘The Medical City (TMC) has been rechristened ‘International Medical City (IMC)’ in Salalah, Oman. The board of directors of Apex Medical Group (AMG) decided to officially brand this development as IMC.

According to Dr Abdulla Al Joaib, founder and President of AMG: ” IMC is an appropriate reflection of the global standard of medical excellence, and holistic solution that the IMC will offer in terms of tertiary healthcare, organ transplantation, diagnostic and wellbeing needs of its patients.”

This development is located just east of Salalah and includes a 530-bed multispecialty tertiary care hospital, a modern organ transplant center of excellence, a state of the art diagnostic center, healthcare resort, wellness center, luxury hotel and a purpose built research and development complex. This multi-phased development is scheduled to commence construction by the end of 2012.
