Long-haul boost for lowcostbeds

Long-haul boost for lowcostbeds

lowcostbeds hs expanded its long-haul buying team after receiving a “fantastic” response from travel agents.

The group will now be able to expand its directly-contracted hotels with the appointment of Steve Silver, who previously worked at Complete Orlando Holidays.

In addition, Michelle Brackstone has been promoted to head of late sales as part of the group’s new ‘daily deals’ it plans to promote through the trade.

“The market has changed considerably and many sales are now made as an ‘impulse buy’, driven through the emergence of even more ‘deal led websites,” said Paul Riches, group director of sales at lowcosttravelgroup. “We have not been quick enough to react to this in the past few months  but Michelle’s new appointment will improve our ability to work with trade partners, on daily deals.”

Amongst its long-haul booking figures in the last three months the group has seen strong sales for Antigua, Saint Lucia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. It now has a new programme for South America and Hawaii as well as Kenya, the Maldives and Mauritius.
