Abercrombie & Kent has opened its first stand-alone store with a focus on technology to help sell holidays.
The City of London store in Cheapside allows customers to speak to A&K’s representatives in 25 countries via Skype and uses iPads instead of brochures. It also has desks that resemble trunks and an open bar. The London store will be its flagship with others due to be opened across the world with Monte Carlo its next destination.
“We have been looking for some time to open the first in a series of stores that bring A&K’s in-destination experiences alive in the store for our clients and we have found the perfect place,” said Geoffrey Kent, founder and chairman of A&K. “Ever since A&K started 50 years ago, we have always pioneered new luxury travel, services and experiences for our clients and this store does exactly that.”
