An overcrowded minibus plunged into a gorge in Kashmir, killing at least 21 people and leaving more than a dozen injured. According to reports citing local police, the accident took place in southern Poonch district. A further 15 injured passengers are reported to be in a critical condition. The bus rolled down into a gorge while negotiating a sharp curve in the mountains of Poonch, said the police. Bus accidents are common in the Himalayan region because of a combination of bad roads, overcrowding and poor vehicle maintenance.
