Train rides based on the Polar Express book and movie will be held in the UK this winter.
Passengers will be asked to don their pyjamas for the journeys from County Durham’s Weardale Railway and Devon’s Dartmoor Railway.
Those onboard will have the full North Pole experience with hot chocolate served; a sing-song; a reading of the book and a visit from Santa.
The train rides will take place from November 2013 to January 2014 with journeys expected to sell out quickly. Prices start from GBP20 per adult and GBP15 per child.
“We’re excited about the success of The Polar Express experience in the UK,” said Ed Ellis, president of British American Rail Services, which operates both Weardale and Dartmoor Railways. “We have delighted children and their parents and grandparents at locations across the US for years, and the story’s messages of hope and belief are ideal for the holiday season.”
