Starwood has announced the opening of the Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort.
Located in Haitang Bay, in the south of China’s Hainan island, the new resort features 448 rooms, suites and villas set among 12,000m² of tropical gardens, overlooking the South China Sea. All rooms include large balconies, with either garden or sea views, while guests can also relax in one of five swimming pools and 10 jacuzzis.
The resort offers a range of F&B outlets, including Chinese, Japanese and international restaurants, plus a lobby lounge and 24-hour room service. The corporate and events market is also catered to with 2,700m² of meeting space.
“We are truly delighted to open our first Westin beach resort, the Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort,” said the property’s general manager, Raetus Balzer. “The Westin brand has enjoyed tremendous success in China, and we will continue on this growth trajectory, bringing our innovative programming and signature design to dynamic destinations, ensuring that all guests leave feeling better than when they first arrived at our hotels.”
The Westin Sanya Haitang Bay Resort becomes the brand’s 18th property in Greater China, with three more properties due to open by the end of this year.
