Italian Destination, a Milan-based DMC with a special focus on MICE segment is tapping the Indian outbound market.
The company has appointed Candid India as its representative in India. The CEO of Italian Destination, Maria Luisa Ciccone recently interacted with tour operators from Delhi and Mumbai.
“The forecast shows that the number of Indian people travelling abroad by 2020 will rise from the actual 15 to 20 million making India one of the fastest growing tourism markets. During the meetings we realized that the Indian tourist loves italian art cities but also the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Taormina, the Cinque Terre, whose popularity is constantly growing. There is more and more interest in the lakes and towards the snow of our Alps and we hope that our Alps will soon be more attractive than the Swiss landscapes promoted in the Bollywood filmography and which so much affect the Indian tourist,” said Ciccone.
